- Story Text: U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Japan on Wednesday (May 25) ahead of an annual Group of Seven (G7) summit.
Obama will join leaders from Japan, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada and Italy for talks on trade and economy, as well as possible measures to counter terrorism.
Obama is expected to hold talks with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe later on Wednesday evening. They were expected to discuss issues including crime prevention at U.S. military bases in the country, after an arrest last week of a U.S. worker in connection with the murder of a Japanese woman.
Following the two-day summit, Obama will visit Hiroshima on Friday (May 27), becoming the first sitting U.S. president to do so after the U.S. dropped a nuclear bomb on the city in 1945. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
