- Story Text: Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso and the governor of the Central Bank of Japan Haruhiko Kuroda welcomed G7 finance ministers and central bankers ahead of a finance meeting in Sendai, Japan on Thursday (May 19).
Global economic uncertainties and measures to deal with tax evasion will be among the key topics at the weekend meeting, Aso said.
Kuroda warned that there are "various challenges" that G7 economies need to address as the global economy suffers from subdued growth.
The meeting will pave the ground for a G7 leaders' summit next week, where measures to boost global growth will be high on the agenda.
The G7 Finance Minister and Central Bank Governors' meeting will cover four broad topics: global economy, international financial architecture, sustainable and inclusive development, and integrity of financial flows. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
