- Date: 6th December 1975
- Summary: 1. GV General Assembly 0.11 2. SV Israeli ambassador Chaim Herzog speaking 1.05 3. SV Delegates listening 1.14 4. Syrian delegate Mouffak Allaf speaking 1.54 HERZOG: "Mr. President, I refer the distinguished delegates to the two previous statements I have made in the course of this debate and can but reiterate that this resolution is part of the current attempt undertaken by the extreme elements in the Middle East and their supporters in this Assembly, to sabotage the mechanism which has been created and which has already brought about an effective move towards peace in the Middle East. Since the resolution relates to Israel it goes without saying that..... HERZOG: ...Israel as a very material side to the conflict, was not consulted at any stage and that in the traditional manner of this Assembly this resolution is one sided, biased and discrimatory." ALLAF: "Mr. President, one has to be ignorant or blind in order to fail to support the draft resolution in the document A/L 783. Mr. President, this draft resolution is based on the principle of the charter itself and from the instruments of international law adopted by all nations and not contested by anyone." Israeli delegate to the United Nations, Chaim Herzog, spoke against the adoption of a resolution condemning Israel for continued occupation of Arab territories in the General Assembly on Friday.
