Here King Hussein virtually renewed war, his declaration of war upon Israel. His statement was that peace may elude the Middle East unless it was realised that former Arab territories must be returned to the Arabs. He referred specifically to the Israeli held territories, to Palestine." KING HUSSEIN: "On behalf of the Queen and all members of the Jordanian party that came with me to Australia, I thank you and I find that words and inadequate to express our feelings of deep appreciation for the warmth, the friendship and the standing with which we have been met, and indeed in terms of understanding also blessed throughout the many years that have passed, and all the crises that you came to face, and the many difficulties we surmounted in our small country in our part of the world."
