He opened camp with an old-fashioned picnic. Reporters and their off-spring were invited to partake of hot dogs and trimmings. Foreman follows Muhammad Ali, once-removed, as Champion. He's also approaching Ali in other skills." REPORTER: "George you are moving up in to Ali's class, or maybe even beyond it as a speech-maker. Who's writing your stuff?" Most of you guys I've been seeing throughout the years and there hasn't been anything I have to write to say to you." REPORTER: "Will you train for Ali differently than you did for Frazier, or Ken Norten or any of the other people you've taken on?" FOREMAN: "No, this will be the same thing, same fight, same just like any other fight." REPORTER: "How much of a tougher fight de you think Muhammad Ali will give you than say compared to Joe Frazier and Kenny Norton?" FOREMAN: "I think that Muhammad, like Joe Frazier and all these guys at this stage can only de what I let them do, and I'm not intending to let them do much." For today it was just some loosening up exercises. Sessions will get progressively longer and heavier until the champ. departs about two weeks pric to the September twenty-fourth fight -- well, why not -- of the century. This is Gary Park reporting."
