SV Malaysian delegate Zakariah speaking 1.38 TRANSCRIPT: ZAKARIAH: SEQ 3: "The situation resulting from the Israeli aggression has been allowed to lapse for three and a half years, despite the Security Council resolution 242 of 22nd November, 1957, which, among other thing, called for the withdrawal of israeli forces from occupied Arab territory. This is an extremely serious matter because the aggression committed is not only grave in itself but, when allowed to persist for that length of time and in defiance of the resolution of the Security Council, it is all the more dangerous in its implications. What makes matters worse is that refined arguments are now being made for its justification and so, further, the situation created out of aggression is being made the bargaining point to extract conditions for withdrawal. "Mr. President, the continued Israeli occupation of Arab lands not only constitutes a violation of united Nation principles but also poses an immediate threat to international peace and security. There can be no justification for aggression against the territorial integrity or political independence of any State and the acquisition of territory be force is inadmissible".
