Reporter: "What happened then?" Capt. Goulbourne:"They told us, quite sensibly, to open our mouths because of the blasts from the aeroplane--or the aeroplanes--I must say the blowing up of three aeroplanes is quite spectacular, I suppose it is rather expensive. Then they took us--or they started to drive the cars, or the convoys, away. There seemed to be rather an argument between the driver and one or two of the other commandos in the car--or bus--which worried us for a short time until we realised it was merely over which way to cross the rather muddy road. Then there was a bit of an argument with the Jordanian Army, I don't know really what the argument was about. At that point it was quite exciting, they pointed guns at us. I don't know if you've ever had a gun pointed at you, but it is worrying." Reporter: "Why did they point the gun at you? Were they threatening to kill you?" Capt. Goulbourne: "I really don't know." Reporter:"Did you feel that you were being led away to be taken hostage or that your lives were seriously in danger then?" Capt. Goulbourne: "Well it is fairly obvious that in any development that the commandos didn't feel that they could contain, years they would have, obviously. It it had been their advantage to kill us, I think they would have killed us. ??? They are a very determined people. I think that everybody here, and everybody in the world should realise they are extremely determined people. I don't think you do realise it, but they are." Reporter: "Where did you spend the last sixteen days Captain ?" Capt. Goulbourne: "Knocking around Amman I suppose." Initials PAF/PN/CO/4.24 PAF/PN/CO/4.33 Script is copyright Reuters Limited.
