Summary:King Farouk, King of Egypt from 1936 to 1952, died in exile in Rome in March 1965. He was 16 when he came to the throne and married twice, the second time to Queen Narriman. In 1952 he was overthrown by a military coup masterminded by Abdul Gamel Nasser. In 1953 Egypt became a republic.
