- Story Text: G7 leaders kicked-off a second day of talks at their summit in the German Alps on Monday (June 8).
The meeting's host, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, is hoping to secure commitments from her G7 guests to tackle global warming ahead of a major United Nations climate summit in Paris in December.
The German agenda also foresees discussions on global health issues, from Ebola to antibiotics and tropical diseases.
But it was the Ukraine conflict and a long-running debt stand-off between Greece and its European partners that dominated the first day - Sunday (June 7) of the annual meeting this year held at Schloss Elmau, a luxury Alpine hotel in southern Germany. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
