- Story Text: The man accused of breaking into Sandra Bullock's Los Angeles home entered a not guilty plea to more than two dozen charges on Wednesday (May 06). Joshua James Corbett appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom, but remained silent as his attorneys entered his plea and the judge set a pre-trial hearing for June 08.
Corbett is charged with stalking, first-degree burglary, possession of a machine gun, and possession of an assault weapon among other things. Police found an arsenal of weapons at his Montrose, California home following his arrest at Bullock's residence.
Bullock was at home during the alleged break-in, which occurred at her Beverly Hills residence on June 08, 2014. She called 911 and locked herself in her bedroom closet until police arrived.
"He's mentally disturbed. He's getting some help in jail, but he's not getting the kind of help he can get," said Corbett's attorney, Steve Sitkoff, following Wednesday's arraignment. "Never intended to hurt Miss Bullock and we're going to show that...He really thought that he was married to her. It wasn't real. It was a delusion, but he doesn't think that anymore."
Corbett's is being held on bail. He faces more than 20 years in state prison if convicted as charged. - Copyright Holder: POOL (CAN SELL)
