  • Story Text: Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the Golden Shoe on Tuesday (October 13) for being the top scorer in Europe's domestic leagues, making him the first player to win four such awards.
    The Portuguese picked up the trophy for his 48 goals from 35 appearances for Real last season, just edging out Barcelona's Lionel Messi who netted 43 goals in 38 outings.
    Ronaldo had previously won in 2008 while at Manchester United and in 2011 and 2014, which was shared with Luis Suarez, at Real Madrid.
    He said that although he was pleased with his achievement he still wanted more.
    "I am not satisfied, I always want more. I know I am the only one who has four boots, but I want more, I want a fifth one and sixth one, if possible. Obviously that means winning things collectively with the team, trophies, and for me Real Madrid is the greatest club in the world and it must win titles every year. This year will obviously be no different," Ronaldo said.
    The Portuguese international said he owed his success to his teammates at Real Madrid.
    "Working is in my DNA. Being part of team like Real Madrid with those players that play by my side, obviously gives me more opportunities to win and I thank them again because without them it would be impossible," he said.
    Ronaldo became Real Madrid's top scorer in history in September, surpassing Raul Gonzalez with 324 goals.
