- Story Text: The Kremlin said on Wednesday (November 7) that it saw no prospects for an improvement in relations between Russia and the United States following the U.S. midterm elections.
"We can say with a large amount of confidence that of course no bright prospects for normalizing Russian-American relations can be seen on the horizon," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call.
Peskov also told the reporters that Russia would consider any new chemical weapons-related sanctions imposed by the United States to be illegal.
The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday it would impose additional sanctions on Russia after Moscow failed to give reasonable assurances it would not use chemical weapons after a nerve agent attack on a former Russian spy in England. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
