- Story Text: Nachman and Frieda Holtzberg, a couple from Israel, held a memorial prayer service in the Indian city of Mumbai on Thursday (November 25).
The venue was Chabad House, raided by militants during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.
Baby Moshe, then a two-year-old, was orphaned when his parents, Gavriel and Rivka, were killed in the attack.
Moshe's grandparents Nachman and Frieda Holtzberg lit candles in memory of the victims.
The Holtzberg's representative said it was hard to believe that two years had passed since the raid.
"The Rabbi and the Rabbitin, the Rabbi's wife, would like to say that just like probably all of you, we cannot believe that it's been two years. It seems as if it's happened just now for them and they are sure for everybody," she said.
The Holtzbergs thanked the people of Mumbai for their support, adding that Moshe still considered the city his home although he now lives in Israel.
"Even though he was only two years old, he fully remembers the place and he still thinks of himself and he thinks of his home as in Mumbai and whenever he's somewhere and people say to him ''come we are going home'' he always says ''no, my home is in Mumbai'' or he says ''do you mean we are going to Mumbai because that's where my home actually is''," family's representative said.
Moshe became a household name after he was rescued by Sandra, a maid who escaped from Chabad House with him during militant attack.
Besides a legal battle over the redevelopment of Chabad House, the Israeli couple have also launched a case in a federal court in Brooklyn in the U.S. against Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence and the group Laskhar-E-Toiba, for alleged participation in the 26/11 attacks. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
