- Story Text: Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan launched movie gaming merchandise created by an online gaming portal for his upcoming film 'Bhoothnath' in tinsel town Mumbai on Sunday (April 27).
Filmmakers of 'Bhoothnath' collaborated with online gaming portal, Zapak, to launch a set of online games based on the movie, which is a children's drama.
The film starring some of the big names in Bollywood like Juhi Chawla, Amitabh Bachchan, and Shahrukh Khan in a special appearance role has created quite a stir with its promos.
The film is a story about a seven-year-old naughty yet innocent boy, who unknowingly turns a foe into a friend.
The main aim behind launching these online games by Zapak, was to tap the huge potential of gaming in India, as well as to promote the film.
The games are a set of adventure driven games, which have been created for children in the age group of five to 14 years and have been created in a manner, which will unobtrusively promote 'Bhoothnath' as they are weaved around the theme of the film.
"These are adventure games for children of 5 to 14 years of age group. There are ghosts in between the storyline of the game and the kids have to shoot those. The games are in tandem with the theme of the film," said Rohit Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited.
The film revolves around the ghost of a grandfather (played by Amitabh Bachchan) that appears to his grandson.
Bachchan who is playing the role of a friendly ghost in "Bhooth-nath", described the enactment of emotional scenes in the film as the most difficult task.
"Sometimes emotional scenes do drain you because you try to revert back to moments which are sad, and uncomfortable for you and once the scene is over you tend to think back whether you did the right thing or not. But I think in order to get the right expression, the right feeling, sometimes the actors do go backward and that is very uncomfortable moment for them,"
said Amitabh Bachchan.
Contrary to the name, Bhoothnath is hardly spooky as it projects a congenial relationship between a kid and the ghost.
To make matters humorous, this jovial ghost is dressed smartly and sings and dances rap numbers with the kid. The film prompts adults to see the world through the eyes of a child.
