- Story Text: Shankar Bidari, Police Commissioner of Bangalore City speaks about various security measures being taken for cricketers and spectators ahead of the India-England World Cup match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Shankar Bidari, Police Commissioner of Bangalore City in India's southern state of Karnataka, on Friday (February 25) shared information with the media about the security measures being taken for the India-England cricket match to be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (February 27).
Bidari said thousands of police officials have been deployed in various parts of the stadium to ensure absolute security.
"Elaborate security arrangements have been made by deploying about 2,000 policemen round the clock for securing the stadium and the safety of the players as well as the spectators. Similarly, about 700 traffic officials have been deployed to ensure smooth traffic and to facilitate the cricket lovers, who come to see the match, to park their vehicles and to reach to the stadium," said Bidari.
He added some secret arrangements are being made for the security of international guests.
"We have made special arrangements for all the guests who are coming from abroad including Great Britain. But it is not prudent to disclose all those arrangements.
