- Story Text: Police are investigating whether a car carrying Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie stopped traffic in India's western Pune city for the wrong reasons on Wednesday (October 11), as one passing motorcyclist claims he was knocked over by her driver.
Mittal Rawat, 19, was riding his motorbike on a busy road when he was hit by a car.
"I did not actually know if it was her (Jolie's) car, but I saw it being chased by lots of reporters in their vehicles. One of them was even sitting backwards on his bike. So, I guess it was them������� I saw Mike, Jolie's bodyguard in the car," he told reporters.
Rawat went on to claim that the accident happened when Jolie's car was surrounded by paparazzi.
Police officials said a case has been registered and investigations would follow.
"He (Rawat) was going on his bike when he got hit by the car carrying Angelina Jolie and her bodyguard. He fell down on his bike, but did not sustain serious injuries. The offence has been registered, now we will investigate and decide what course of action to take," said Govind Pawar, the police inspector in charge of the case.
Jolie and actor husband Brad Pitt are in Pune to shoot for a movie 'A Mighty Heart' on the life of slain American journalist Daniel Pearl.
Angelina is being cast in the film directed by English filmmaker Michael Winterbottom, famous for his war-based productions- 'Welcome to Sarajevo' and 'The Road to Guantanamo.'
The movie is being made by Pitt's production company, Los Angeles-based Plan B.
The film is based on a book by Mariane Pearl, "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl."
