- Story Text: The third one-day international (ODI) cricket match between India and Sri Lanka began in northwestern Jaipur city on Monday (October 31) amidst tight security in the wake of the three bombs that killed at least 59 people and injured more than 200 in New Delhi on Saturday. Security personnel were patrolling inside and outside the stadium. The two teams stood for a two-minute silence to express their condolences for those who lost their lives in the blasts. But the security did not put the fans off. "I am very excited to witness the match," said one spectator, Himanshi. "I am quite confident that India will win. This is the first time I have come to watch a cricket match and I am hopeful that our team will win." Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. India lead the series 2-0 and Sachin Tendulkar has confounded his critics by top-scoring both times, with 93 and 67 not out, after being sidelined for six months because of elbow surgery. Leading Sri Lanka paceman Chaminda Vaas and spinner Muttiah Muralitharan have born the brunt against Tendulkar. Muralitharan, who is 13 wickets short of reaching the 400-mark in one-dayers, has taken just one wicket in the two games but captain Marvan Atapattu gave him his backing. India coach Greg Chappell said Tendulkar was playing to team orders and added that the 32-year-old could be rested for inconsequential matches.
