It's funny. She's like, you haven't seen your kids in a while. And you're like, you haven't been in the spotlight for a while. It's interesting how it looks objectively, but in the real world it is that daily balance. And yeah, I've been with my kids because that's where I want to be. It's so wonderful." VARIOUS OF BARRYMORE SPEAKING TO REPORTER (SOUNDBITE) (English) DREW BARRYMORE, SAYING: "This was hard. I was scared to step out and do this. But I do have two daughters and this is about two women and it really did inspire me, and some of the women I know and love most have been through this exact experience, and I just thought this story had a tone and an approach that I really respected and I think I was humbled right on into it." COLLETTE SPEAKING WITH REPORTER (SOUNDBITE) (English) TONI COLLETTE, SAYING: "I think they go hand in hand. Life's not black and white. It's a combination and that's what I loved about the 'Miss You Already' script. Morwenna [Banks] just created this beautiful tone of something very, very real and relatable. There are lots of highs, and some very sad lows, so I think life is like that."

- Story Text: Drew Barrymore made a triumphant return to the spotlight on Saturday (September 12) for the premiere of "Miss You Already" at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The actress has shied away from Hollywood recently to be with her family.
"It's funny. She's like, you haven't seen your kids in a while. And you're like, you haven't been in the spotlight for a while. It's interesting how it looks objectively, but in the real world it is that daily balance. And yeah, I've been with my kids because that's where I want to be. It's so wonderful," Barrymore said.
But Barrymore decided to go back to work for "Miss You Already," the story of two life-long friends whose lives change when one gets pregnant and the other gets cancer.
"This was hard. I was scared to step out and do this. But I do have two daughters and this is about two women and it really did inspire me, and some of the women I know and love most have been through this exact experience, and I just thought this story had a tone and an approach that I really respected and I think I was humbled right on into it," said Barrymore.
Playing opposite Barrymore is actress Toni Collette. She said she was moved by the script, which critics have said seamlessly blends happiness and sadness.
"I think they go hand in hand. Life's not black and white. It's a combination and that's what I loved about the 'Miss You Already' script. Morwenna [Banks] just created this beautiful tone of something very, very real and relatable. There are lots of highs, and some very sad lows, so I think life is like that," said Collette.
"Miss You Already" is due out in theaters in November.
