Also, we can only assign one person per camp bed so more than 300 or 400 people is not possible. So we have to decide on a case by case basis whether we search another train or not." - Story Text: As hundreds of refugees arrive in Germany every day, police in Rosenheim on the border with Austria said on Tuesday (September 1) they were reaching capacity limits.
The spokesman for the Rosenheim district federal police, Rainer Scharf, said that although authorities were prepared "for this mass immigration at the German-Austrian border to continue, we are reaching our limits."
"Last night, around 400 people entered the country illegally in the Rosenheim district," Scharf said, standing in the local sports hall turned refugee shelter.
"We can only take in as many people here as we can accommodate in decent conditions. Also, we can only assign one person per camp bed so more than 300 or 400 people is not possible," he said.
Germany expects to receive some 800,000 migrants this year, the most of any EU country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
