- Story Text: Association for Southeast Asian nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers held a smaller scale meeting in Bangkok on Wednesday (July 31) to exchange views on Rakhine state and the Rohingya refugee issue, amongst other regional matters.
Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Busadee Santipitaks said the ministers were looking at various prospects of resolving the issue of "displaced person in the Rakhine state."
The South China Sea, nuclear talks, and security threats are expected to top the agenda for this year's regional forum of the ASEAN and related meetings, where the U.S., Japan and South Korea will be holding a trilateral meeting on the stability in the Korean Peninsula.
The ASEAN 10-nation regional bloc consists of Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, and Singapore.
