Malaysian police said the body of a woman "with white skin" was found in the jungle on Tuesday (August 13), near where Irish teen Nora Anne Quoirin went missing.
The body was still intact and a police forensic and pathology team was working on identifying it, Sembilan state police chief Mohamad Mat Yusop told reporters after visiting the scene.
Police said they received a tip-off from local man, Manohara, and they found the body about two kilometres from The Dusun resort, where Quoirin was last seen.
Fifteen-year-old Nora Anne Quoirin, who suffered learning difficulties, was reported missing on Aug. 4 after her family arrived at the Dusun resort in Seremban, about 70 km (44 miles) south of the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.
An aid group helping the Quoirin family confirmed in a statement that a body has been found in the search, though no confirmation it is Nora but 'sadly seems likely'. Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade offered prayers to the family in a tweet after the news broke.
