We will be appealing to world powers that they should stop the sham Republic Day being observed in India, and they should stop the atrocities taking place in Indian Kashmir." A curfew has been imposed, and life has come to a standstill. Under these circumstances, the entire Kashmiri nation is looking towards Pakistan and demanding that Pakistan should increase military pressure on the LoC (Line of Control), and help the Kashmiris militarily. If at this time Pakistan does not give military aid to Kashmir and does not stand with the Kashmiris, then it is possible that the real dream of Pakistan will not be realised. Because the Quaid-i-Azam ("Great Leader", a name given to Pakistan's founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah) said that Pakistan is not complete until Kashmir becomes a part of it." - Story Text: Protests against Indian actions in Kashmir took place in the Pakistani-administered part of the valley on Wednesday (August 14), with refugees who fled India calling for military action against India.
The refugees, many of whom have lived for years in a camp in Muzaffarabad, on the Pakistani side of the line of control, which separates the two nations, also said they'll mark India's Republic Day tomorrow, as a black day in the calendar.
They're angered by India revoking the special status of its portion of Himalayan Kashmir, known as Jammu and Kashmir, on August 5 and Delhi's moves to quell widespread unrest by shutting down communications and clamping down on freedom of movement.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan traveled to Muzaffarabad to address the regional parliament and express his solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
But many Kashmiris said the time for talking was over, and action was needed:
India rules the populous Kashmir Valley and the Hindu-dominated region around Jammu city, while Pakistan controls Azad Kashmir, a wedge of territory in the west. China holds a thinly populated high-altitude area in the north.
