- Title: "Emotion motivates your movement" - tango dancers heat up stage at world championship
- Date: 14th August 2019
- Summary: VARIOUS, PAIR CONCLUDE DANCE (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) COLOMBIAN TANGO DANCER, MARISOL RIVAS CHIRIVI, SAYING: "You get together with your partner and nothing else exists, he is there, you are there, and it's something that is happening with the music. If romance motivates you, or if it is very intense, or perhaps if it's completely sad, an emotion will come to you, and that emotion motivates your movement, and that movement will have certain qualities starting with what you feel, beyond being dancers and learning movements and studying them to do them well, you fill them with that emotion, that's where you have to get." (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) COLOMBIAN TANGO DANCER, GONZALO VAQUERO, SAYING: "I invite everyone not only to come to the (tango) world championship, (but) to come live Buenos Aires to see that tango is playing on each street, and that on a corner you can find Pichuco (nickname for tango legend, Anibal Troilo), and on another: 'look, (Carlos) Gardel sang here.' So, the city breathes tango, and the idea is that that breath is expressed in your dancing."

- Story Text: The dramatic footwork, spins and twirls of 'stage tango' were on full display at the World Tango Festival and Championship in Buenos Aires on Wednesday (August 14).
Considered to be the more flamboyant of the two tango categories, stage tango dancing pairs showed off their best moves in front of judges in the hopes of moving on from the classification levels.
Buenos Aires, the global tango hotspot, is reportedly the birthplace of the nostalgic and impassioned dance. According to Argentines, the dance originated in the city's working class ports at the turn of the 19th century.
Buenos Aires' tango festival wraps on the 21st of August and features cinema, talks and competitions inspired by the famous dance.
