- Story Text: A blast in the center of Afghanistan's capital Kabul killed at least six people on Tuesday (September 17), police officials said, in a bombing claimed by the Taliban.
The group also claimed responsibility for another attack that killed another 24, their deadliest bombing taking place near an election rally by President Ashraf Ghani, although he was unhurt.
The attacks happened 11 days before Afghanistan's presidential elections, which Taliban commanders have vowed to violently disrupt, and follow collapsed peace talks between the United States and the insurgent group.
