Online hit and purported presidential candidate, "Deez Nuts" is gaining momentum -- at least in the online world. The fact that "Deez Nuts" isn't a viable candidate also doesn't appear to be hurting the White House hopeful's poll numbers at all.
The reported brainstorm of a 15-year-old boy from Iowa, "Deez Nuts" has 8 percent support in Minnesota and 7 percent in Iowa, according to Public Policy Polling.
One of the purported "Deez Nuts" websites lists off a number of political nominations they are considering. Among them: the American Populist Party, the Modern Whig Party, the Marijuana party and the Rent Is Too Damn High party.
Deez Nuts officially joined the White House race in July, filing the necessary forms with the Federal Election Commission. Since then, "Deez Nuts" has apparently worked to establish a social media presence, creating a twitter account, two Facebook pages and a website, though Reuters could not confirm if all the sites had been created by the official "Deez Nuts" candidate.
Over 2,000 Facebook users "liked" one of the candidate's profile pages.
While Nuts may be gaining support on the web, the candidate will have to wait another 20 years to capitalize on his popularity. U.S. election law requires presidential candidates to be at least 35 years old. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
