October 30, 2018 - Saudi public prosecutor Saud Al Mojeb visits the Saudi consulate in Istanbul as part of an investigation and hold a second round of talks with Turkish prosecutor, Irfan Fidan.
October 31, 2018 - Istanbul's chief prosecutor's office issues a statement saying that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was suffocated in a premeditated killing as soon as he entered Saudi Arabia's consulate four weeks ago, and his body was then dismembered and disposed of.
November 5, 2018 - Turkish officials say Saudi Arabia sent a two-man "clean-up team" to erase evidence of Khashoggi's killing a week after he disappeared, calling it a sign top Saudi officials knew of the crime.
November 10, 2018 - Turkey's Erdogan confirms the recordings related to the killing of Jamal Khashoggi have been shared with Germany, France, Britain, U.S. and Saudi Arabia.
November 15, 2018 - Saudi Arabia's public prosecutor says it will seek the death penalty for five out of 11 suspects charged in the murder of Khashoggi. He confirms Khashoggi was killed by a lethal injection dose, his body dismembered and taken out of the Consulate building.
November 15, 2018 - Turkey's Foreign Minister says measures announced by the Saudi prosecutor are insufficient and calls for the location of Khashoggi's body to be disclosed.
November 15, 2018 - The U.S. Treasury imposes sanctions on 17 Saudi officials for their role in the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. Among those sanctioned were Saud al-Qahtani, as well as the Saudi Consul General Mohammed Alotaibi and members of a 15-person team Turkey has identified as being involved.
November 15, 2018 - Saudi Arabia's foreign minister denies that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had any involvement in the murder Khashoggi.

November 20, 2018 - U.S. President Donald Trump says he will not destroy the global economy by being tough on Saudi Arabia over the murder of Khashoggi, although the CIA believes Khashoggi's murder was ordered by that country's crown prince. Trump made the comments to reporters as he continued to defend Riyadh, even though a bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers has pushed for the Trump administration to punish Saudi Arabia more severely.
November 28, 2018 - U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis says the United States has "no smoking gun" that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was involved in the killing of Khashoggi.
December 12, 2018 - In a rare break with President Donald Trump, the U.S. Senate votes to move ahead with a resolution that would end U.S. military support for the Saudi Arabian-led coalition in the war in Yemen. Eleven of Trump's fellow Republicans vote with Democrats to provide the 60 votes needed to advance the war powers resolution in the Republican-led chamber.
January 28, 2019 - Human Rights Watch calls on the United States' Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to share its intercepted recordings of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi's murder. The NGO's director Kenneth Roth says Khashoggi's assassination is important enough on an international level for the CIA to reveal evidence regarding the killing. Roth's statements comes as Agnes Callamard, the United Nations' human rights investigator who is leading the inquiry on the murder, arrives in Turkey for an official visit.
February 27, 2019 - Saudi minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Al-Jubeir, tells the United Nations Human Rights Council, that it will cooperate with its mechanisms, but does not explicitly refer to the U.N.-led inquiry into the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
June 19, 2019 - Evidence suggests Saudi Crown Prince is liable for Khashoggi murder - U.N. expert.
September 21, 2019 - Turkish TV reports Saudi Arabia has sold the consulate building in Istanbul where Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi was killed.
