- Story Text: Security was beefed up in Kabul from early Saturday (September 28) morning in preparation for presidential elections.
The run-up to the polls have been violent with attacks killing scores across the country.
Incumbent president Ashraf Ghani is widely expected to win a second five-year term. But there are concerns this could deepen political instability, embolden the Taliban and set back efforts to get stalled peace talks back on track.
