- Story Text: Travellers left stranded at Mexico City's international airport by protesting taxi drivers on Monday (October 7) received a helping hand from Mexican police who escorted them to and from a blockaded terminal.
Taxi drivers blocked roads leading to terminal one of the city's airport for hours Monday to protest ride sharing applications like Uber, Didi and Cabify.
Traffic was snarled across the megalopolis as the protest shut down major arteries forcing people to walk to work.
Mexico City was among the first cities in the world to regulate Uber after the popular app burst onto the scene, much to the ire of taxi drivers.
