- Story Text: Teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg on Friday (October 11) told thousands of supporters in Denver, Colorado that 'change is coming' on climate change.
"The people in power continue to ignore us and to ignore the current best available science. How dare they?" she said to cheers and applause.
The rally was organized by environmental activist group 'Fridays for Future Denver Strike'.
Thunberg's campaign began as a lonely vigil outside the Swedish parliament but rapidly grew into a global movement of activists demanding urgent action on climate. In recent weeks, millions poured onto streets around the globe in protests and Thunberg addressed the United Nations on the issue last month.
