- Title: Mbappe not ready for 90 minutes in Champions League, says Tuchel
- Date: 21st October 2019
- Summary: (SOUNDBITE) (Dutch) CLUB BRUGGE COACH, PHILIPPE CLEMENT, SAYING: "I think that the expectations of the outside world will be much higher than our own expectations. We have a group of players who are very hungry, players who want to achieve a lot. They've proven that over the past few weeks and months. Also in the way they play: they dared to play in Madrid (against Real Madrid). As a coach, you can ask them to do that and train on it, but they still have to do it themselves. They will play again with conviction, I'm convinced of that. But I'm also convinced that Paris Saint Germain is one step higher (than Real Madrid)." That's something they do every day in France against almost every team. So we certainly can't just stand in front of our sixteen metres (line). Or at least, we will certainly try not to do that." - Story Text: Kylian Mbappe will either start or come on as an impact player for Paris St. Germain but he will not play the full 90 minutes in Tuesday's Champions League match against Club Brugge, coach Thomas Tuchel said on Monday (October 21).
The 20-year-old World Cup winner has been involved in limited action this season because of a thigh injury and his return to full fitness is still being monitored by the club.
PSG's 32-year-old Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, also not at full match fitness, has battled with a hip problem this season and has played sparingly.
PSG will still be without Neymar, who was injured while playing for Brazil in Singapore last week, while Julian Draxler and former Everton midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye are also out for the Group A game in Belgium.
PSG could take a giant step towards qualification with an away victory to keep up their 100 percent run in Group A.
Before the campaign started, Brugge would have been seen as the whipping boys of the group but are second in the standings, ahead of Real Madrid and Galatasaray.
