At least six people were killed and six others injured when a helicopter carrying 12 people crashed into a lagoon in Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos on Wednesday (August 12).
Four bodies were found on Wednesday, while the remaining two were found on Thursday morning (August 13).
The twin-engine Sikorsky helicopter operated by offshore energy transportation specialists Bristow Group was flying from an oil rig and crashed at around 3.30 p.m. (1430 GMT) in the Oworonshoki area of the city, shortly before it was due to land.
Efforts to recover the debris were still ongoing on Thursday.
Idiat Oluranti Adebule, the deputy governor of Lagos state was at the scene.
"Government is in charge, we are taking control of the situation and as we proceed we are going to continue to brief them. All the emergency agencies are all here. They are all doing their best they can to bring....to control the situation," she said.
U.S.-based Bristow Group has a fleet of around 500 helicopters that service the global energy industry and it has transportation operations in Nigeria and most other major offshore oil and gas producing regions of the world. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
