- Story Text: As temperatures surge into high thirties Celsius, tourists visiting Prague and residents were seeking new ways to cool off on Thursday (August 6).
A business on the riverbank of the Vltava offers the chance to spend some time on the water without getting wet, in a number of inflatable rubber orbs that challenge anybody's ability to stay upright.
The idea has caught on and dozens of people everyday bounce inside the orbs in view of Prague castle.
"We are here for the second season and the interest for it is just great because people usually don't know it and they want to try it for the first time," the owner of the firm offering the service, Emil Patta, said.
Even though standing up straight was proving challenging for everyone, participants only had a limited amount of time on the water so didn't want to blow it.
"It was super. It is true that in the end I had less air but the whole trip was really super," Prague resident Anicka said.
"Yeah, the water is nice and cool, especially on a hot day," tourist from the U.S., Juliana, said.
Air needs to be pumped into the rubber balloon every time before it is sealed, with around 15 minutes time limit for a person to be inside. They orbs are also secured with lines to the river bank to make sure that even those who develop their sea-legs can't float off too far. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
