- Story Text: Colombian police on Wednesday (August 5) said they had arrested a woman at Bogota's El Dorado airport after they discovered more than 50 capsules stuffed with $500 dollars each inside her body.
Police Chief General Moreno Maldonado said the unidentified woman had swallowed most of the latex containers while others were inserted into what he called her, "private parts."
"She brought, she had ingested, she had swallowed a large number of capsules. Up until now, 52 capsules have been expelled. Each capsule has five 100 dollar bills. This woman had also hidden a large number of capsules, 12 capsules, in her private parts," Maldonado said.
The woman, who is reportedly 39-years-old, had arrived to Bogota from a flight originating in Mexico.
The total dollar amount found on her body thus far came to $38,500 dollars though more capsules could still be expelled from her.
The woman is in police custody and is said to be in stable health. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
