  • Story Text: Luxury Russian jewellery brand Caviar launched the sale of customized $3,000 gilded Apple Watches with an engraved name and signature of President Vladimir Putin. The watch also features Moscow skyline and the Russian imperial crown on the digital crown button.
    For those who do not belong to Putin's fan club the company offers models, devoted to other Russia's leaders such as Vladimir Lenin and Peter-the-Great.
    "This collection included three watch models dedicated to Russia's greatest times. Those are the Russian Empire, the soviet union and the current times. We chose key elements from each of these periods, key symbols and used them in the watch design," said Caviar brand spokeswoman Anna Lobova.
    The Russian Empire watch is dedicated to the Russian emperor Peter-the-Great, whose reforms in the beginning of 18th century changed Russian course of development.
    The watch "USSR Epoch" is Lenin-themed and have hammer and cycle on the digital crown button.
    The company said it decided to devote its latest product to the Russian president because he symbolises strong, independent Russia.
    "For instance, the design of this model is centered around the panorama of the Moscow skyline and the name of President Putin and the artistically reproduced signature of the President. Because in our world we live in, the President of the Russian Federation is a true symbol of our strong, independent country, so his image can be used as the real symbol of our times," Lobova said.
    Last year the company sold the special edition of Russia-themed gilded customised iPhones produced by a joint Russian-Italian company. Some models had lines from Russian national anthem and the country's coat-of-arms engraved on the back.
    A number of models according to company's website also featured Russian President Vladimir Putin's portrait.
