Everyone is supporting us so it's just about finding that motivation and do whatever I can to get the team over the line so if I have to keep a 100 overs and then go and bat at the top of the order, I am going to do that." What I would say, I think we should have defended on that wicket, on that ground. 288 was a par score. So, I think we won't be doing all those mistakes again and again, so I think if we get 280-290 again, so we should be able to defend it. You can't say like we need 350 runs to defend, it's not like that. I think, as a bowling unit, we also need to win matches for the team. So I think 280-290 would be a good score if we bowl well." - Story Text: Opening batsman Shai Hope on Tuesday (December 17) hopes West Indies bowlers skittle out India's Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to help him end the year as the highest run-getter in the 50 over format.
Hope, who scored an unbeaten 102 to help his side hosts India on the first one-day international match, is currently third in this year's list with 1,225 runs. Indian skipper Kohli leads the pack with 1,292 runs followed by his deputy Sharma who has scored 1, 268 runs.
Hope said he the visitors had the backing of the 'entire Caribbean' and the Barbados wicketkeeper batsman was 'ready to keep a 100 overs and got bat at the top of the order' to help his side win matches.
Meanwhile, India was handed an injury boost with speedster Jasprit Bumrah hitting the nets in southern Visakhapatnam city ahead of the second one-day international match.
India trail the three-match series 1-0 and would look to draw level on Wednesday (December 18) when the two sides meet. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
