- Story Text: Security was tight ahead of the ASEAN Regional Forum meeting in Malaysia on Thursday (August 6).
Foreign Ministers from the United States, China, Japan and other East Asia nations will hold talks with their counterparts from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Key issues relating to the region are expected to be tabled, including the disputed South China Sea.
Malaysia, the current chair of ASEAN, has said the topic was not off-limits and would be raised.
A slew of bilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of the meeting.
Observant countries included foreign ministers from North Korea and Timor Leste, are also expected to attend the meeting. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
