- Story Text: A journalist holding an Orthodox icon and Bulgarian flag briefly interrupted Russian President Vladimir Putin's annual news conference in Moscow on Thursday (December 19).
Atanas Stefanov from the Bulgaria's Bulpress wanted to give the icon of the Miracle Worker to Putin.
Putin and Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who was chairing the event, both thanked the journalist.
The incident occurred shortly after Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, who was chairing the conference, invited a journalist from the city of Magadan in Russia's Far East to ask the president a question.
About 1,900 journalists from Russia and abroad have been accredited to attend the event, according to the state TV channel Russia 24.
In 2018, it took almost four hours for Putin to answer reporters' questions.
