- Story Text: Thai police arrested 55-year old Somkid Phumphuang who admitted to murdering his partner, 51-year old Rassamee Mulichan, months after being released from jail on good behavior.
Police was able to arrest Somkid while he was on a train to Bangkok on Wednesday (December 18) after being spotted by a good Samaritan.
Somkid confessed to police that he killed Rassamee after they had a fight and he was 'not tolerating' it.
Rassamee's son, Jakkrit Shuenphrom, 25, told local media that his mother had known Somkid for about a month prior to her death through Facebook. Both Rassamee and Somkid were planning to marry.
After learning of Somkid's earlier crimes, Jakkrit said he hope the suspect should face 'death sentence' and that 'he's not normal'.
Somkid, dubbed by the media as 'Kid the Ripper' in Thailand, was given an early release in May after spending 14-years in incarceration for killing five women since 2005.
In 2005, Somkid received a death sentence but his sentence was reduced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty.
