- Story Text:Indian actress Deepika Padukone launched the title track of an upcoming Bollywood biopic, 'Chhapaak' (splash) based on the life of an acid attack survivor and activist, Laxmi Agarwal, in the country's entertainment capital Mumbai on Friday (January 03).
The song 'Chhapaak' tells the ordeal of change of life and a loss of identity, after an acid attack in just a 'splash'.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is based on the life of Agarwal, an Indian acid-attack survivor and activist. She was attacked by a 32-year-old man at the age of 15 in 2005 after she refused his marriage proposal.
Written by veteran Bollywood lyricist Gulzar (Meghna's father), the song is sung by singer Arijit Singh and music is given by popular Bollywood musician trio, Shankar, Ehsaan, Loy. The film is expected to hit the theatres on January 10. - Copyright Holder: ANI (India)
