- Story Text: Mexican authorities discover an unfinished drug tunnel in Tijuana just two blocks from the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Sunday (August 2) members of the media were allowed to take photos of the tunnel, the third such tunnel found in the area since April when two other tunnels were discovered.
One of those tunnels had a sophisticated electricity and rail system and was 200-metre (655-feet) long.
Over the past decade, more than 75 illegal tunnels have been found across the roughly 3,200 km (2,000 mile) U.S.-Mexico border.
This is the first drug tunnel discovered since Sinaloa Cartel boss Joaquin "Chapo" Guzman escaped from a maximum security prison through a tunnel on July 12th. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
