- Story Text: Schools remained closed in Karachi on Friday (March 13) after the government of Pakistan's Sindh province announced that schools, which had been closed last week amid fears of coronavirus, would now remain closed till May 30.
The decision was made during a special cabinet meeting presided by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. It was also decided that these holidays would be treated as summer vacations. Karachi is the capital of the southern province of Sindh.
The SSC (Secondary School Certificate) annual examination was also postponed in Sindh, Baluchistan and Gilgit-Baltistan region. Teachers, students and parents said they stood by the government decision but it could badly affect the education process.
