- Story Text: Cleaners in white protective suits sanitised every inch of Milan on Friday (March 13), while in Rome and many other cities across Italy, banners with messages of hope have begun to appear on streets and balconies.
"Tutto andrà bene", meaning everything will be alright, has become a symbolic phrase of hope in the coronavirus crisis that has left the entire country on lockdown as the biggest outbreak outside of China gets worse and worse every day.
Banners have been hung on apartment balconies and outside shops, accompanied by colourful drawings of a rainbow.
In the Trastevere neighbourhood of Rome, a banner thanking doctors for their service was hung on a closed restaurant.
In Naples, streets continued to be deserted much like the rest of the country.
