In Rome, people were seen applauding from windows while banners reading "Everything will be fine" drawn by children waved outside balconies.
Milan showed its response to the crisis and the city unofficial anthem "Oh mia bela madunina", dedicated to the statue of the Holy Mary on top of the Duomo Cathedral was played from a window.
