  • Story Text: Thousands of Liverpool fans flocked to Bangkok's Rajamangkala National Stadium on Tuesday (July 14) to watch the pre-season match between Liverpool and the Thai All Star team.
    Donned in red, waving Liverpool scarves, and painting the team's logo on their faces, fans from around the country are excited to finally get to see their favourite players kicking off at the 40,000 capacity sports stadium.
    The fans said they were rooting for the English Premier League's Liverpool to do better in the upcoming season this year.
    One of the fans said he wants to see Liverpool climb up the ranks.
    "They (Liverpool) should do better this year than last year," said 40-year-old Somchar Sittipolporn. "They were falling off last year. Actually, it was a huge fall."
    Another fan added that the Reds should be able to win at least one competition.
    "I hope that they will get at least one trophy (in the upcoming season)," said 21-year old Watthanyu Chaisri, who travelled from Chainat Province. "Just anything, big or small (trophies), means that they're champion at something."
    Liverpool will head to Australia after playing in Bangkok. They are following in the footsteps of Chelsea, who played a Thailand XI team in May, after the Premier League season ended, before continuing to play in Australia.
