- Story Text: Dozens of fans waited in line for hours to get a chance to enter the highly anticipated "Star Wars" panel on Friday (July 10) at the annual Comic-Con Convention in San Diego.
"It's like an awesome movie. It like, what's not to love about it. It has like, light sabers and it's got fights and stuff and it's got cool aliens and stuff. Well, not aliens but they're like weird creatures," said Madison Humphreys, a young fan who waited in line with her parents and siblings.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is due in theaters in December. It is the first of a new trilogy rebooting George Lucas' "Star Wars" franchise and kicking off a slew of films from Walt Disney Co that will expand the universe.
Long-time fans have high expectations for the new franchise.
"Everyone was sort of raised on it I guess. It just has that sort of, there's something about the way the story is told that's just captivating I guess. And this is the first good one we're going to get in a while so, yeah, it's going to be cool," said Brody Serradalli, a longtime fan of the films.
The 6000 plus fans who were able to make it into the panel were treated to a surprise visit by actor Harrison Ford as well as a featurette of behind the scenes footage of the new film. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
