  • Story Text: Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao met the head of Indonesia's House of Representatives on Friday (July 10).
    In a meeting with Setya Novanto, Pacquiao briefed him of his visit to an Indonesia prison where a Filipino woman on death row is being held.
    "I asked her and then she, you know, all of what happened to her she don't know. She didn't did that. I think the blame here is to the recruiter," said Pacquiao.
    The boxing superstar is one of many celebrities campaigning to save Mary Jane Veloso.
    Veloso won a last-minute reprieve from execution in April, after officials in Manila asked Indonesian President Joko Widodo to let her give evidence in an investigation into the network accused of recruiting her to smuggle 2. 6 kg of heroin into Indonesia.
    After the meeting Pacquiao who is still recovering from shoulder injury said his condition had improved and hope could do a rematch with Floyd Mayweather after the duo legacy fight in May.
    "Ya it's ok now, getting better, hopefully next year we can have a rematch with Floyd," said Pacquiao.
    But Pacquiao's dream might not come true as Mayweather has plans to retire in September this year.
