- Story Text: Portugal winger Nani has joined Fenerbahce from Manchester United for six million euros on a three-year deal, the Turkish league runners-up announced on Monday (July 6).
Nani spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, scoring 11 goals, having joined United in 2007 from the Portuguese club. He had been told he was not part of United manager Louis van Gaal's plans.
"All the happiness they (Fenerbahce fans) showed this evening, of course I want to give back inside the pitch, trying to do my best, show good quality of my football, Nani told a news conference at the club's Sukru Saracoglu stadium.
"I can promise I'll work very hard. I'll give my heart. I'll give everything I can. So.. That's what I can promise for the moment and then I hope we'll win trophies as well," the 28 year-old added.
Nani, who won four Premier League titles and the Champions League at United, signed a five-year deal with the Old Trafford club in September 2013. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
