- Story Text: A suicide bomber attacked a convoy of foreign troops serving with NATO on the main road running between Kabul airport and the U.S. embassy, police and security officials said on Tuesday (June 30).
The road was closed off, and Reuters witnesses saw damaged NATO military vehicles.
The force of the blast rattled windows in the capital's heavily guarded diplomatic enclave.
One resident, Samsoor Khan described what happened.
"I was at my shop when suddenly a huge bang was heard. I thought my shop roof had collapsed, two girls were over there but they were alive. I tried to go and rescue seven others but I was stopped by Americans, they were firing into the air," he said.
