  • Story Text: Temperatures soared at the European premiere of 'Magic Mike XXL' in London on Tuesday (June 30) - but it wasn't just the summery weather making the screaming crowd hot.
    The cast of the supercharged raunchy male stripper movie sequel sizzled on the red carpet in Leicester Square.
    Actor and producer Channing Tatum, taking on the titular role, was joined by Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer and Adam Rodriguez, who are part of Mike's rogue band of male entertainers, the Kings of Tampa.
    Picking up the story three years on from 2012's "Magic Mike", the sequel sees the cast reunite in the stripper saga, which was loosely based on producer and actor Channing Tatum's experiences early in his career.
    Promotional posters and signs for the movie showed five topless men with chiselled torsos and abs - but the group admitted that they hadn't quite kept up the film's workout regime since.
    "No! No, my Magic Mike body, ugh - No, absolutely, that lasts for about five days, like when we're shooting, and that's about... You time it, until that day and then you lose it like immediately," said Tatum, adding that he was hoping to make 'dad bods' - another term for an under-toned male body - more popular.
    Actor Matt Bomer said that there was a "time and a place deal" for having the 'Magic Mike' body, and "once they call cut it's back to cheese burgers, pizza, whatever we've been missing out on."
    Meanwhile, actor Joe Manganiello said that he was "having a day off" and enjoying "scones and Devonshire cream… and smoky bacon crisps".
    And while the male cast exude confidence in the film, Tatum said that "getting naked" was "nerve-wracking".
    "XXL" serves up elements of a road trip, but the introduction of new female players like Rome (Jada Pinkett Smith) make the film all about what women really want from the men in their lives.
    Despite playing the proprietress of an exotic female-only club where women are entertained by male dancers, Pinkett Smith said that she has never been to a male strip club before.
    "I don't know if I'll ever go, because this was the best male review a girl could see, you know what I mean?" she said.
    Time Warner Inc-owned Warner Bros' "Magic Mike XXL" is projected by BoxOffice.com to open with $29 million over the U.S. Independence Day holiday weekend.
    The film is released in US cinemas on July 1 and in UK cinemas on July 3, 2015.
