- Story Text: Access to the website Twitter in Turkey will resume soon, a senior official told Reuters on Wednesday (July 22) after the micro-blogging site removed images relating to a suicide bomb attack blamed on Islamic State.
Several internet service providers blocked access to Twitter in line with a local court ruling to prevent the distribution of images of the attack on Monday (July 20) in the southeastern town of Suruc near the Syrian border.
Shops in Suruc opened for the first time since the blast at a culture centre, that killed 32 people and wounded nearly 100 others.
"All shop owners were in the hospital to donate blood for those injured in the blast," said street trader, Mehmet Cinar.
Visitors, like Suleyman Nazarkan from Diyarbakir, visited the site to pay their respects.
"I came from Diyarbakir to see this painful scene with my eyes, to be an eyewitness. This is inhuman," he said.
The blast tore through a group of university-aged students, led by the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations, as they gathered in Suruc ahead of a planned trip to help rebuild the nearby Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
